Movies

Rumor has it that there are some more old movies buried in the archives of some of the ’71 classmates. Little league football, baseball, and maybe even an old movie project from high school might still be found. Movies posted on this page so far have been dusted off and glued back together just for laughs.

“The Monster of Carmel” 1964
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynGIA09Iivg
This was an Auman Dr. neighborhood horror movie production from 1965 that features actors: Mark Thornton, Jim and Tom Smith, Jim and Steve Mooreman, Michael and Patrick Partington. The production took place in just one day. A few months later a theater was set up in the basement of the Partingtons and 10 cents was charged for admission for all the neighborhood kids. There were 2 shows and about $7 in profit was split between all seven actors.

“The Isn’t” 1968
https://youtu.be/QDWAFXaFxUQ

Carmel’s very first music video in 1968! The Isn’t was an early rock band with Tim Fortner, Frank Owens, Reed Delporte and Michael Partington. They played at private parties, PTO Panics and the NeetNac at the Jr. High School. During a battle of the bands at a NeetNac event, the band’s speakers almost caught the stage curtains on fire. Pretty cool then – a really scary thought now. Anyway – The “Fynal Episode” won the band battle that night so they were asked to play at the upcoming 40th Reunion!
